Analysis of Pop Video 1

Cinematography:


Most shots in this video are close ups or extreme close ups. We often see a location within the video and one of the band members within the main frame being centre of attention. What i noticed was in most pop videos there are lots of short sharps shots. Within 10 seconds i counted almost 10 different cuts and different shots. This gives the video an intriguing feel and keeps the viewer watching as there's always something new to look at.

Mise-En-Scene:

This song was released over summer and the current location of the video goes very well. You see people enjoying themselves which gets helped by slow motion shots also. Overall, the shots are very well done. They aren't too long or too short, they fit in everything they need for it to be an enjoyable video to watch. We get a clear visual of the location as we see below which is Ibiza which is notorious for being a party island.

Editing:


The editing within the video is very basic and includes short sharp cuts. This gives emphasis on the video as it shows something always happening. There are a couple slow motion shots of the two men on skateboards.  Overall, the shots are very well done. They aren't too long or too short, they fit in everything they need for it to be an enjoyable video to watch

Sound:


The song immediately catches your attention with the anthem. You can picture the song being played in a club abroad and the video fits perfectly with the lyrics. They show the band members on holiday enjoying themselves with girls and partying.
