Artist Logos/Graffiti Tags

These were logos created by Jordan Dye in our group. We all agreed that Angels logo will stay the same. It is glamorous, stylish and sexy which can represent the woman she is trying to be in the video. However, the E-Zee logo will be re-done. We created a graffiti font for this to go with the Hip Hop theme. However, we agreed the colours were bright and there wasn't that dark, power element to it. These were some rough ideas which will improve on in the near future.

Track permission Email

Above is a permission letter to Wretch 32's company. Daniel Decruz from my group wrote this out as it was part of his individual task for the lesson. We email them for copyright, however most times they will not get back to you.

Track permission Form

Email for location permission

This was our location permission letter. This letter is sent to for example a council of a local area so we can gain permission to be able to film without causing any disruption. We sent a letter to south bank council but are still seeking a reply from them. We let them no will wont be around for long or cause any disruption or trouble for anyone in the environment.

Talent release form

This is important as if someone is performing in our video we need to get them to sign the form for permission.

Props, Costumes, and Equipment

Equipment:

Our equipment we will be using will be the simple things in order to record something. We will be using tripod, camera and we may even use a fig rig. We defiantly need a camera and tripod as it is what we will record with to make our video successful.  The tripod is also essential as it keeps the camera steady which contributes to the video looking more professional. The fig rig will also come in handy as it gives us good movement around our actors but also keeping the camera still.

Props/Make-Up:

Within our video we have not thought about using many props. We will be recording in a studio to make it look like we were recording the making of the actual song. The props within the studio could be classed as props such as the mic in the booth and the recording equipment. Make-up wont be necessary for the male singer however, the female singer will most likely be wearing make-up on her own accord.

Planning Story Board

This was our story boarding task for our music video. Within the task, we set each other different roles. For example; Jordan was drawing, Alex was writing the lyrics, Dan was coloring and I filled in all the timing, edit boxes etc. This really worked and we got a clear concept of what's needed in the video.

Analysing The Lyrics

These are the lyrics to our chosen song. We discussed ideas as a group and then gave our own opinions of what the lyrics mean and the content behind them.

Evaluation

Image Annotation

Above is a picture taken of an individual you would associate with the 'hip hop' genre and rightly stereotype him. I am personally not sure if he is a rapper however therefore i am assuming he is just someone taking a photo. Our artist is based in the UK and the clothing is very similar to the US based artists which intertwine with their genre. Within our chosen song is also a girl, as the video has not be released, i will go by the song and sound of her voice  in order to represent how i would think she would look.

I think she would be glamorous as it is a soulful song and has a deep passion within it. Below is a picture of Beyonce. Within the video i think the girl should be wearing something similar to make her stand out  and make her the centre of attention.

Below is the rapper Jay-z, i will compare him to the first picture of the man who i associated with the stereotype of hip hop and how he would be associated or represents it because of the way he dresses. Some things people expect to see within hip hop videos are key conventions such as; Hats, glasses, bling and fresh clothes. Contrasting both of these pics we see conventions listed above in both. Our artist will have to go along the lines of a good stereotypical view in order to make the video look right and represent the genre well.

Technical Tutorials

This was the digi pack our group created. This was our first test try at a digi pack cover. We just played about on photoshop trying to make it look realistic and as best as we could. On the dig pack we tried to emphasis a Hip Hop natured CD. For example, overlooking the camera so it looks as though he artists are looking down upon you indicating their power. Also, the graffiti style writing and airplane. The graffiti is intertwined with the Hip Hop 'culture' & the plane can indicate wealth and money. For the time being this is just our draft, However as we improve our skills on photoshop we will be able to create a much improved digi pack for our final draft.

Our Chosen Song

This was our chosen song that will be using for our video shoot. We chose it as it will be easy to work with as it was just released and hasn't got a video yet. The genre is Hip Hop but can also be classed as UK Hip Hop or rap. The time of the song also helps as it is the time needed. It was also easy to get people to perform as all we needed was a boy and girl
