Q4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

At the research stage the main media technologies that I used where:

Screen Grabs:
Screen grabbing is a very effective and yet easy way to get a picture which you can elaborate on or use as a piece of evidence within your blog.
Blogger:
This was a very good way of using media technology as it is very accessable whilst using the internet which means I could work almost anywhere. Blogger interface also allows you to upload videos, images and sound clips which gives a plus side to my coursework as it will be more interactive
Youtube:
Youtube was used in various ways to help me find out information on my genre and audience opinions, Also, it gave me the chance to create and post video's about answers to questions; youtube being as reknown as it is, it was nice and effective to look at.
Google Docs:
This was used to form a questionnaire in a quick and simple way as result could be put into charts and graphs automatically. This also gave me the ability to email the questionnaire around without having to contact the people again for their answers.

At the Planning stage the main media technologies I used were:
Animatic (iMovie):
The animatic was made using iMovie and it was basically a slide show of our storyboard in time with the song. This was good because I could manipulate the length of time each picture lasted for making it a very good visual representation of how the official music video would look. This was an effective way of my group seeing if the chosen shots were good or bad and helped us decide what to leave in and take out. Also, it was a good way of showing my understanding of how to use iMovie and how to upload various images, thus making the courseowork better.
Still Camera:
The still camera was used to go out and take pictures of various potential locations of the video shoot. At the Construction stage the main media technologies I used were:
Da font:
Da font is very effective for trying to master the correct font for your chose genre. There are plenty to choose from and sometimes the unauthadox ne can be the best to choose.
Photoshop:
Photoshop was used to enhance images and also give a bit more flavour and umph
Tripods:
Tripods are effective to use whilst filming as it keeps the camera perfectly still.
Fig Rig:
This allowed us to use video camera's in an unorthodox way where shots could be rotated and held without getting the effect of a hand shaking.
Final Cut:
This was used to edit the music video at a professional, intricate and detailed standard in order to get the best results when editing was completed. It allowed this as there were many unique transitions and effects exclusive to final cut.

At the Evaluation stage the main media technologies I used were:
Twitter:
This was used to gather feedback from peers and others. It gave me a chance to post my video on a Social networking site and allow the opinions and views of others to be shared.

Q3) What have you learned from your audience feedback?

My group gained some audience feedback from fellow peers and friends. We uploaded our video onto social networking sites such as Facebook for people to comment and to see what they think of the video. Gaining feedback from friends and family outside of school is much more useful as they haven’t got an idea of media conventions and also can’t be as critical.
The audience feedback we tried to gain was mainly focusing on the lip synching within the video and also meeting all the conventions. What we would have liked is people’s first reactions to be and know it was a hip hop video. We then asked questions such as; why it’s Hip-Hop and what makes it Hip-Hop.  The feedback we got from the peers we asked was constructive and gave us a clear understanding of what we could do to improve the video.  Most feedback said we met the conventions of the genre however some parts could have been put together better and also the connection with the artist was lacking a bit.
We also gathered some feedback from people by getting them to watch it and then ask them questions on what they think of the video. We got some peers who don’t study media and got their reaction and view on it. This was effective and gave us a good establishment of how our film made people feel. Mostly, people gave us positive feedback on our unique locations and shot types. Also, the props and costuming was perfect for the video and worked well. The ‘street wear’ I wore during the video helped create the Hip-Hop atmosphere overall.

Q2) How effective is the combination of your main product and your ancillary texts?

Q1) In what ways does your media product, use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

One way my media product uses conventions of my genre is by the video being structured in a stereotypically to the genre; which is Hip-Hop. The video has a variety of locations but the main base of the video is set in outdoor open space locations in which you would usually see a Hip-Hop video being filmed. This is a convention as most videos in this genre have open aired shots of just the artist and a good background. This was the effect we were trying to re-create. A way in which my media product develops conventions of my genre is by us using symbolic cutaways such as capturing people on skateboards or graffiti shots. This also gives the artist some time as he may not know all of the words so it takes the pressure of him. Our video doesn’t really challenge conventions as Hip-Hop videos are usually all made the same and there's not much you can put in to challenge conventions unless the song has a theme to it that maybe intertwines with rock or a different genre. Another convention of a music video that my video follows is the use of editing; in the video the shot cuts are in time with the beat giving off a good vibe to interact the audience with the video. This helps to create the specific emotion and feeling that we’re trying portray on the audience which will make it effective at grabbing the audience.

These were our advertisement poster and also the cover of our digi-pack. There were several things you need to include in these. Mainly being the artist being current and being in most pictures to keep all eyes of him in a way however, make it unique in which people will like the look of it and pay interest.

Below i will be giving a clear comparison of The artists E-Zee & Angel In our film compared to current stars that they would be compared too, music and stereotypically. In this case it is Professor green and Emilee Sande.
Immediately, you can see the comparisons in both sets of performers. Z-See and Pro Green both have the same type of looking jacket on and are both struck with the looking down pose. This shows their 'swagger' and coolness about them.
In addition, stereotypically, both girls are striking a 'sexy type' pose . Both of their hands are in positions behind their head almost symbolising themselves as unique or special.
